For the second year in a row my home town of Binscarth, Manitoba held a fundraiser in order to help raise money for cancer research. This year's event, with very little help from mother nature, took place on July 3rd. Due to the rain that came down for most of the day, the event took place at Arbuckles, a restaurant in town, instead of the park.
When it was all said and donemy little home town of maybe 500 people raised $2000.00 this year. It was a rfantastic success!

June 25th, 2005 marked the date of the 2nd Annual Calgary Cancer Fundraiser. For the second year in a row the baseball team that I play on, "Hit for Brain" organized and ran a tremendous cancer fundraiser right here in Calgary. The fundraiser, which is quickly becoming the event of the year here in Calgary, helped raise just over $10,000.00 for the second year in a row. |
