It was April 1st, 2004 when Dr. Lategan showed up in that hospital room with the diagnosis of leukemia. It does not feel as though only one year has passed. With everything that has happened in the twelve months since that day, it feels like it could almost be a lifetime. Even Dr. Lategan thought it had been two years, and coming from him that can only mean one of two things. Either he has seen way too much of me over the last twelve months and my ugly mug is starting to eat away at him, or the progress that has been made in twelve months is progess that is normally made over the course of two years. I am pretty sure it is the first part, but I am going to stick to the second part anyways. |
