Hi Everyone,
My deepest apologies for not getting this on the website a lot sooner. I arrived back in Calgary yesterday from what was a very crazy couple of weeks of holidays back home in Binscarth, Manitoba. Enough small talk.
The "Picnic in the Park" was an overwhelming success. The folks from Binscarth and surrounding areas gathered at the Binscarth Park and Pool for a BBQ fundraiser put on by all of the ladies from my Mom's 500 club. For those of you that are not familiar with the 500 club, I will sum it up for you in one very short sentence. It is just another excuse for women to spend money. haha |

Cyclist Darin Gooda will take on the ride of his life later this year. The 30-year-old Calgarian will ride his bike 160 km in October for the Ride For The Roses, held annually in Austin, Tex., for the Lance Armstrong Foundation to improve the lives of cancer survivors.
Gooda is one of those survivors.
Back in March, Gooda says he went in for a routine tonsillectomy to rid himself of his bout with strep throat. Complications arose from the routine operation and he was sent back to hospital. It was then he was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia...

In an attempt to try and keep everybody as up to date as possible with relation to my health, I will be writing small updates upon the completion of my doctor appointments. It is not the most exciting information in the world, so I will do my best to keep you all from falling asleep while reading it. |
